About the Project
The Villa Okanagan project is conceived as a residence that draws directly from the historical and natural features of its lakeside setting. Positioned on a headland overlooking Okanagan Lake, the design emphasizes a strong relationship with the landscape, both grounding the structure in the cliffside and orienting it toward expansive water views. Its architectural language balances permanence and warmth, with concrete as the dominant material contrasted by laminated timber ceilings and lighter interior finishes. Massing and roof forms are carefully articulated to invite natural light, frame the lake, and moderate solar gain, while outdoor decks offer private spaces for social gathering. The result is an exclusive, timeless dwelling that embodies the principles of critical regionalism by responding to site, climate, and cultural context in a way that feels rooted, restrained, and deeply connected to place.
