About the Project
Traditionally, the student residence has served to isolate students from the surrounding community. This has limited a student’s personal interactions and experiences to within the boundaries of the campus. Suburban campuses particularly can afford the space so there has been little reason for them to do otherwise. In order to remain relevant, student residences must be willing to adapt. The recent increase in the number of emerging community-University partnerships has resulted in the necessity for exactly that: the reconsideration and adaptation of student residences within their adopted communities.
