About the Project
The new Mackenzie Fire Hall is a modern, 18,500-square-foot facility designed to serve as a cornerstone for community safety and resilience. Featuring four double-deep vehicle bays, offices, locker rooms, dispatch, training and laundry rooms, and a dedicated lounge, the building is purpose-built to support the critical operations of Mackenzie’s first responders. The design reflects a balance of functionality, transparency, and community pride. Expansive glass overhead doors on the front façade showcase the department’s fleet while flooding the apparatus bays with natural light. At night, architectural lighting highlights the main entrance and the warmth of the exposed wood structure, creating a visible landmark that celebrates the spirit of service. Constructed with a combination of conventional wood framing and heavy timber glulam elements, the Fire Hall expresses craftsmanship, sustainability, and strength.
