About the Project
The goal of the project was to help address housing issues in the region, support the College’s goal of reducing its carbon footprint, increase access to post-secondary education and contribute to economic development in the local community. In conjunction with the student housing project, the College also received a grant from the Ministry of Children and Family Development to incorporate a 44-space child care facility into the Project. The Project provides a 100-Bed Facility constructed of wood using some elements of mass timber and designed to meet BC Energy Step Code Step 4 performance targets. The new Facility includes interior and exterior student support and amenity spaces.
